Selma’s Story

November 11, 2016

Selma Prodanovic, founder of Brainswork, was Born in Sarajevo.  Selma had a very international upbringing. She moved to Austria in 1991 working in advertising, in film production, and as well as a teacher. After having her two children, finding the right job was a challenge: a woman, a migrant, a mother- too many variables for companies to hire her. She decided to bring her international experience under one roof and founded her own company to support start-ups in their process of becoming successful international businesses.

Although the idea was new and the market not developed, Selma was and is very successful and has helped over 300 start-ups. She is also co-founder of the Austrian Angel Investors Association, and is working on a European level to connect investors with new businesses.  Today, with her initiative 1MillionStartups she reaches out to entrepreneurs, investors and stakeholders alike to create an eco-system of cooperation for a better world.

Her ability to create a successful career against all the odds is what inspired her scarf.
