Design brief
We joined our journeys to achieve the goal of uniting cultures and celebrating diversity. This is an explosion of energy and joy, a multitude of colours. Our respect and love for the Austrian culture as being very ordered and structured in itself got us to the thought of squares lining up. In a disciplined way, such as the audience in the opera or theatre, the colourful squares fill the entire pattern, bringing life on top of a black background. In our interpretation, this scarf is a panoramic picture taken from above during a celebration of cultures. Every person has a different cultural background and a different colour. And these colours, coming together, create a visual harmony, which spreads the cheer of the symbolic crowd.
It stands for unity, cheerfulness and the beauty of diversity. It is a symbol for everyone who believes that cultures should coexist and be celebrated.
About the scarf
The story of this scarf starts in Vienna in Spring 2014 when Andra & Iulia about what would best represent Younited Cultures. The idea of colourful squares was hand-drawn by them and adapted by graphic designer Konstantin Wolf. Andra and Iulia added the final details and the packaging, ensuring high standards in quality and a sustainable local production.
